Multiple trusts deploy SystmOne Mental Health in 2020
Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP), Leicester Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) and Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) all went into deployment or rolled out the SystmOne Mental Health module in the second half of 2020.
TPP now provides clinical systems for around 30% of mental health services in England.
SystmOne Mental Health is used across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and adult care as well as more specialist mental health and learning disability services. The availability of the EPR across these services enables secure sharing of data that allows for more comprehensive, consistent and well-informed patient care.
LPT went live with SystmOne Mental Health in November whilst CPFT are midway through rolling out the full module, with Older People services going live at the end of November and Adult and Specialist services looking to be rolled out next March. With the majority of GP and Community services in the Cambridge and Peterborough and Leicester areas already using SystmOne, patients in both areas stand to benefit from the consistency of shared care provided by features such as personalised care plans for individual patients linked to their EPRs.
The Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust became the first Trust in the North West region to procure the Mental Health module last year. The Trust’s 3400 clinical and operational staff and over one million patients across the region will benefit from functionalities such as the dashboard for easy monitoring of patients whilst still offering integrated care thanks to SystmOne’s increasing interoperability, with plans to go live in the second half of 2021.
“We are pleased to see many Trusts are realising the benefits of the functionality that SystmOne can provide for mental health services,” said Geri Boynova, Account Manager at TPP. “We look forward to continuing to work with providers as they improve the experiences of clinicians and patients across the UK through more joined-up and personalised care.”
CWP Chief Clinical Information Officer, Dr Amarinder Sandhu said, “We are delighted to choose TPP as the preferred supplier for the electronic patient record system, which will deliver a safe, reliable and convenient solution for our patients and clinical staff. TPP’s SystmOne EPR was selected by clinicians at the trust for its usability, interoperability and ability to integrate securely with primary care. This will confidently place the Trust at the forefront of NHS Health Informatics enabling us to introduce further innovation for the benefit of patients and staff, including patient accessible health records and electronic prescribing. Clinicians will be able to deliver better care for patients with the focus on improving outcomes and delivering the best possible care for our local community.”
In 2021, TPP hopes to see Trusts such as Cheshire and Wirral going into full rollout of SystmOne’s Mental Health module as well as more Trusts signing on to SystmOne Mental Health to benefit both staff and patients.
