TPP statement regarding service procurement during COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly had a profound impact on the NHS across the board. In terms of technology’s role in the response, we have seen an increase in uptake of products that enable new ways of working, such as video consultations across primary care.
At TPP, we have received a steep increase in enquiries, from both new and existing partners, for products and services that can assist the NHS in dealing with the pandemic. These include setting up new SystmOne units for COVID-19 testing ‘hot hubs’ and for ‘shielded’ patients currently in the Health and Justice system, through to supporting video consultations and EPS across care settings.
We want to assure anyone who is procuring technology across the NHS at this time that any new service we provide to assist with the COVID-19 outbreak will be free of charge. This applies to all levels of the NHS, including NHS Digital and NHSX and any public health or local councils that need assistance with vital research.
Frank Hester, TPP CEO, states, ‘Now is not the time to be blocked by contract negotiations or discussions regarding price. If there is a service or product we can supply that may assist our NHS at this critical time, please get in touch and we will do all we can to help. I don’t care whether that contract lasts 1 month, 6 months or a year – it can be for as long as it helps with the Covid-19 situation and its aftershock.’
The centralised infrastructure of SystmOne and Airmid mean that no local hardware is required for the system to be installed. Equally, any personal PC can be used to access SystmOne via a VPN into N3/HCSN – we are working on an imminent release of ‘internet first’ SystmOne to negate the VPN requirement.
