TPP is first to receive Full Rollout Approval for GP Connect: Appointment Management
Following on from the success of the GP Connect Record Access: HTML capability, TPP has also become the first supplier to achieve Full Rollout Approval for the Appointment Management capability. NHS Digital’s GP Connect: Appointment Management is designed to enable clinical and administrative staff across the NHS to book and manage GP practice appointments.
Appointment Management has been trialled in both 111 settings and Extended Access Hubs with TPP. The functionality allows users working at the 111 call centre or the Extended Access Hub to book and manage appointments across care settings, regardless of the IT supplier software each organisation is using.
Senior Software Developer, Will Wilson, said “It’s great to see the implementation of the first structured FHIR specifications for GP Connect. The Appointment Management programme will be a core part of the functionality required to support primary care networks nationally. We’re also looking forward to working with NHS Digital to make this functionality more widely available, so that staff members working in Urgent Care Centres, Emergency Departments, and Social Services can benefit from managing GP appointments for patients under their care.”
